By the way, Wiki defines guardianistas as "A reader of the Guardian newspaper, regarded as middle-class, excessively liberal and politically correct, etc.

I am most certainly not middle class or liberal........not sure I am very PC either !

Sports stars are different. Running about for 90 minutes gives you a clammy mouth and they spit on the floor.

It's spitting at a target that's unacceptable.

Sports stars are no different.....it mainly applies to footballers and is purely habit forming serving no physiological purpose.

TTT...I have been a Guardian reader man and boy, for over 40 years. If I can't get a Guardian, then I will buy the Independent instead, although death from the sheer boredom of reading it is a very real danger !

Always unacceptable - even from sports players. I've had quite a few turn-ups with local footie players over their very nasty habit of spitting on the ground where, later, young children would be practising crouch starts etc..

Whichever journalist says it is acceptable should be heavily censored.
