I understand your question (to paraphrase, "Is this now more representative of women in Essex that the airhead glamourpuss of the past"), but because this particular attack is still a rarity (thankfully), it's not enough to become a stereotype.
So no - this is not 'the new Essex girl'.
Not by any stretch of the imagination.
It's simply a horrible crime.

While not condoning this horrific and brutal killing, one must step back and contemplate the ages of these alleged killers.
13,14,15,16 & 17, not much more than children, who's whole lives are now destroyed for ever, and the parents and relatives who only a few years ago were celebrating the birth of these youngsters, what of them?
Yes I suppose I will be lambasted for being a hand wringer, but when one gets to my age, one looks back and thinks of all those years throughout one's life, the advantages and pitfalls we all have to experience, and recognise that any particular moment throughout all those years one could be placed in a situation that could either improve ones life, or completely destroy it.

yes I agree AOG remarkable hand wringing contribution
but it is still sunday and time to repent
as the facts of this come out ....
for example if the youngest knew one other was carrying a knife and was present then he would be indicted for murder under the rule of "common purpose". [ and faces a ten year stretch for being in the wrong place at the wrong time ]
