it's true that ian fleming created Bond as a particular person with particular characteristics and traits, http:// www.ian fleming .com/ja mes-bon d-2/s in the 1950s, and a character like that would be something of an anachronism if he was portrayed like that in modern films.
so is Sir Roger right that film makers should remain faithful to Fleming's description of James Bond? or is the Bond franchise now bigger than one man's vision of his character?

I wouldn't say that but with our newly enriched shores being blessed with many from other cultures and sexuality being not stifled anymore I for one would be happy to see Idris, a homosexual sumalian, asian or polish man/woman as bond

The 'black Bond' thing came about because of the Sony leak last year. Remember that story where North Korea was blamed for hacking into Sony's systems? Well one Sony executive was musing to another about possible Bond replacements and she mentioned Idris Elba.
The papers got that, and have been running with it ever since.
It's an entirely media-orchestrated story. They've kept it going...even though there isn't a great public demand for him to play Bond. The reason they're keeping it going is so that people can click on links to the latest chapter in the 'story' and post comments. Each time the story is clicked on, in whatever paper, they can charge a fee to advertisers.
It's called 'click bait'.

On the theme of Bond, and apropos of nothing, Heineken has been a 'brand
partner' of the James Bond franchise since Tomorrow Never Dies back in 1997.
However, their recognisable bottles didn't actually make it to the screen until 2012's Skyfall.
The Bond films have never been shy about product placement, so why the delay?
Apparently Bond producer Barbara Broccoli hates the colour green because of all the teasing her surname inspired as a kid. So she took a lot of persuading to have Heineken's green bottle show up in the movie.
...allegedly.

at a client meeting in nord-rhein-westfalen a few years ago, our hosts told us that beer was best not drunk if it came in a green bottle.
(something to do with not filtering out ultraviolet, which can react with the chemicals found in hops).
when my boss pointed out that beck's was marketed in just such a bottle, the host just replied:-
...."votch mein lips...."
