dave was asked this question 6 times, very politely indeed, by the Leader of the Opposition. His unwillingness to answer speaks volumes. Given that he and Gove promised that they wouldn't cut tax credits before the Election,
I would suggest that even if he had given an answer today, that it is doubtful whether he could be trusted to keep his word.
In case anybody has forgotten what Gove actually said, here it is again :::

The extract from the interview is 2 mins long, but the denial that a future Tory Government would NOT cut tax credits is right before the end.
Of course, we can't always believe politicians but when they say one thing and then do the opposite, then I think it only fair that they should be judged on he consequences.
If both dave and Gove had said, quite clearly in the run-up to the May 7th, that they WERE going to cut tax credits, then, as so many millions of people rely on them, its unclear whether they would still have won the Election.

Naomi - ////Jeremy Corbyn demands tax credit 'guarantee' at PM's questions//
That's not a question. //
No, but asking why Dave is refusing to commit himself is!
The answer is the elephant in the room (or chamber in this case) - the Tories know that their smokescreen about higher minimum wage and raised tax threshold covering the difference is exposed as the lie that it is.
Offsetting one financial loss by supposedly bumping up money taken from elsewhere in the governments' finances saves nothing, and the government are naïve if they think the public can't work that out for themselves.

Z-M - //He probably hasn't answered because the position is in a state of flux and giving an early, un-thought through one, would probably result in people of your political persuasion making even more out of it than you are now. //
More likely is the fact that Mr Cameron knows full well that his lie is exposed, and he doesn't want to be seen to be lying to Parliament directly - Mr Gove has already put his size nine in it by opening his mouth - let's not make it worse!

Baldric - /////The Leader of the Opposition asked Dave a very simple question many times today///
Was he stamping his feet at the same time, he really needs to be patient and wait for Chancellor George Osborne's Autumn Statement, on 25 November. //
Mr Corbyn is not willing to give the government a month to chicane their way out of this situation, in which they have plainly planted themselves by reneging on a manifesto commitment, and then trying to pretend that sufferers will not be worse off financially.
Mr Corbyn is not that stupid, and neither are the public.
It is Mr Corbyn's job as head of HM's Opposition to expose the government's smoke and mirrors, and on this, he seems to be doing his job very well.
