// Gromit Oh dear, did you fail to spot that Svejk didn't ask a direct question?// Stop being pathetic. Svejk linked to a genuine news item which is researchable. You posted about a television programme that you haven't even seen.

Dreadful news. I'm all cut up!
No virgins for him, then.

///Dreadful news. I'm all cut up! ///

And he is, I expect.

Daft feckers. Having 2 towns with the same name. We wouldn't do that, would we?
Of course not. England would never have two towns called Newcastle!
Oh well, never mind, I wont lose any sleep over it.
How many Newports in England and Wales? Only one Billericay though.
Question Author
I got lost driving in Ireland and ended up in Newcastle. (true)
Baza We're talking TOWNS here, not villages. :-)
That would be poetic justice. He who lives by the sword...

However, the language throughout this report is very speculative.

// ...is said to have died... ...claimed he was killed... ...It is believed... ...purports he was executed //

Good news if true, but the report is unconvincing. I do not know if Lebanon TV is a reliable source for truthful reporting.
"Having 2 towns with the same name. We wouldn't do that, would we?"

But they aren't in the same country
This is interesting, from wikipedia:

Tripoli (Libya) is also known as Tripoli-of-the-West (Arabic: طرابلس الغرب‎ Ṭarābulus al-Gharb), to distinguish it from its older Phoenician sister city Tripoli, Lebanon known in Arabic as Ṭarābulus al-Sham (طرابلس الشام) meaning "Levantine Tripoli". It is affectionately called The Mermaid of the Mediterranean (Arabic: عروسة البحر‎ ʼarūsat el-baḥr; lit: "bride of the sea"), describing its turquoise waters and its whitewashed buildings. Tripoli English pronunciation: /ˈtrɪpɵli/ is a Greek name that means "Three Cities", introduced in Western European languages through the Italian Tripoli. In Arabic: طرابلس‎ it is called Ṭarābulus (About this sound pronunciation (help·info), Libyan Arabic: Ṭrābləs About this sound pronunciation (help·info), Berber: Ṭrables, from Ancient Greek: Τρίπολις Trípolis). Compare Sanskrit, "tri" meaning the number 3, and "pura" meaning a fortress, castle, city or town. Hence, in Sanskrit "Tripura" also means "Three Cities".[3]
Apostasy? Got my doubts.
me too Naomi, wouldn't be a good move for a member of isis would it?

No, it wouldn't.
Why the glee? - If he was murdered for apostasy, surely that shows he had realised how wrong jihadi Islamism is. Shouldn't we be pleased about his conversion to reason, and not celebrate his death for it?
Khandro, if it transpires that he is dead (and I have my doubts), you'll have to forgive me for not shedding a tear.
Question Author
Yes, dry your eyes, khandro. He's probably on his way to a town near you.
I somehow doubt he had a damascene conversion.
Not a dry eye in the house!
