Two dignified protests, how very different from that other one, held earlier in the week, I refer of course to those pro-immigration protesters.

My pleasure Baldric. A very good pal of mine was in attendance. A boy from a very challenging upbringing. Made whole by the RM, and a truly good and fair man with a purpose in life that is not just about himself. I am proud to know him, and by association every one of his fellow serving and ex-servicemen.

My Career finished in the '80s after a bad RTC, but served almost 20 years before that with no regrets.
Well that certainly told me.

I feel thoroughly put in my place now.

I apologise for bringing this thread into disrepute, and would like to thank those who have taken time out to criticise me - everything is a learning experience, and criticism is as valid as praise.

Seriously - thank you.

And please look out for any further posts I put on AB. There's every chance I might slip back and write something I shouldn't.

I love you all.*

(*platonically).
Thank you for you apology and acknowledgement. I am sure it will be well recieved and accepted.

Hmmm...sarcasm sometimes goes unnoticed.

/// Hmmm...sarcasm sometimes goes unnoticed. ///

That is because most of us are decent 'fellows' and take a person's apology as being sincere and accept it with gratitude, little realising that some amongst us can stoop so low as to be sarcastic.
AOG

Nothing to apologise for.

Your original question has no merit.
I think the original question has merit.

If a work colleague asked me, "How comes a bunch of protesting anarchists behaved differently from a group of disciplined ex-marines?" I would answer, "Are you serious? What do you expect from anarchists?"

I would then try to smell his breath to see if he had been drinking.

The original 'question' was not a question. It was a point that was being made. It's something that many of us do on AB. I do it myself when I want to make a point based on an agenda I may have (I do it frequently when trying to draw attention to bigoted views).

But there needs to be honesty here.

The question is not a valid one because it's something that everyone above the age of 14 knows.

Anarchists revel in anarchy. It's in the name.

Meritless.
If it sows a seed that encourages people who support the anarchists’ agenda to think about what they’re actually supporting it is not meritless.
If you say so naomi24, if you say so...
Thats the best you can offer? Ha pathetic.

/// Anarchists revel in anarchy. It's in the name. ///

I was referring to the pro-immigration protesters, and it was this 'rabble' that Amanda Platell was referring to also.

/// How utterly different from another protest four days earlier. Last Saturday, terrified rail passengers had to flee for safety as 'A VIOLENT RABBLE OF PRO-IMMIGRATION PROTESTERS' — many having attended an anarchist meeting — rioted as they tried to storm Eurostar trains at London’s St Pancras station ‘in solidarity with migrants and refugees’. ///

But then you and others couldn't possibly be seen criticising such a group as them, now could you?

/// If a work colleague asked me, "How comes a bunch of protesting anarchists behaved differently from a group of disciplined ex-marines?" I would answer, "Are you serious? What do you expect from anarchists?" ///

That wasn't the question that I asked as you well know it.

/// The original 'question' was not a question. ///

Eh? "Why The Difference"?, that is not a question?????

/// But there needs to be honesty here.

The question is not a valid one because it's something that everyone above the age of 14 knows. ///

So now it is a question, but not a valid one? LOL

"Why the difference" is something that everyone above the age of 14 knows?????

Oh pack it up, you are creasing me up. LOL LOL LOL.

/// Anarchists revel in anarchy. It's in the name. ///

Anyone see the word 'ANARCHIST" referred to by me in my thread?
AOG

You should have read Ms Platell's report:

[i]Last Saturday, terrified rail passengers had to flee for safety as a violent rabble of pro-immigration protesters — many having attended an anarchist meeting — rioted as they tried to storm Eurostar trains at London’s St Pancras station ‘in solidarity with migrants and refugees’.[i]

Ergo...anarchists.

AOG

What I mean is - you weren't really asking a question. Yeah were making a point.

It's because you have a particular agenda.

We all do.

Your agenda was to spark a debate, to which you could bring up certain points.

Unless you really don't understand why the two groups act differently when protesting.

...and if you really don't know the difference, well...

/// You should have read Ms Platell's report: ///

I did read it, that is why I copied and pasted the same passage as yours except 33 minutes before you.

I will enter a portion of that very same excerpt.

/// 'A VIOLENT RABBLE OF PRO-IMMIGRATION PROTESTERS' — many having attended an anarchist meeting ///

Attended!!!! Attended!!! that doesn't make those 'violent rabble of pro-immigration protesters' fully paid up anarchists members.
