Not all muslims are bogeymen. A good example of someone practicing what he preaches.
TTT
That pretty much sums up the world of Rugby Players and their Fans.Good ,hard,gentlemanly conduct and no pantomine!!! :-)
Fantastic. That is a true champ
Yes retro : and Jonny Wilkinson summed that attitude up perfectly in his comments after the game
Beautiful......the video has made my day...thanks, TTT....x
Gary Neville has allowed homeless people to spend the winter in a building he owns. Not all footballers are kno6s.
Well done, Sonny Bill!
Great gesture!
really nice - he was feeling happy and rather than just keep it in the huddle, he instinctively shared it with a kid he didn't even know.

He's won the occasional "players' player" award, so his teammates seem to appreciate him too.

For me it's the contrast between his bulk and power and those amazing dainty offloads. Apparently he's dropping rugby (union and league) for a while to try to make the Olympics Sevens team, so good luck to him.

he may not be as other footballers. but he was incedibly naiive, handing the keys to the manchester stock exchange to wesley hall, a convicted racist fotball thug.

What a kind gesture.
Yes the sheer joy on that young lads face was something to behold, but on the negative side, won't that encourage others to storm onto the pitch, hoping for the same?
AOG has a point here. Of course the gesture was a nice one and the kid was delighted. But there is a good reason that pitch invasions are not to be encouraged. There is a lot of milling about and this kid could just as easily be hurt or injured. But a nice gesture all the same.
But if you accept Gromit's stance that ,only he can explain, a Moslem has proved he is not a bogeyman .Well. that's all that seems to matter to Gromit and I really fail to understand what his point is by bringing it into this post.

Heard on the Beeb this morning the he's been given another Medal anyway to replace it.

Mikey, you're not wrong!

///and this kid could just as easily be hurt or injured///.

///Williams explained afterwards:
A young fella snuck on the field somehow but when he was coming up to give me a hug, he got smoked by a security guard, full-on tackled him.
He was only eight and the other fella was a full-on man, so it looked like he would break his ribs or something///.
To be honest, I can't see the relevance of his religion at all. Its got nothing whatsoever to do with his sport or this kind and touching gesture.

By the way, it said in the papers today that the kid goes to Millfield School, so it is highly likely that he might turn out to be a brilliant sportsman as well !

In the 60's my school used to have sports days together with Millfield, and I can still recall the wonderful facilities that they had.

Some famous sportsmens ::

Sir Gareth Edwards
Mark Foster
Richard Harding
Duncan Goodhew
Stephen Batchelor

Loads more !
"smoked" ?...new phrase to me !
Mikey
I remarked to my wife at the time, "If we live long enough we might see that young man win his OWN world cup winners medal for the All Blacks." Hope to see that. :-)
Mikey
same as creamed or malleted or iced :-)
Retrcop...I would like to see that as well ! This kid must be the second most famous rugby pitch invader, after Erica Roe !
