/// Michael Le Vell and Bill Roache don't seemed to have suffered so badly. ///

Money and fame isn't everything, just imagine having to bear the very thought that there are some who still think you are guilty of such repulsive and heinous crimes, even after being found not guilty?
Of course...but it should be fair both ways. Non celebs and celebs alike.

That is the fault of those who habitually say, "There is no smoke without fire."

I wouldn't argue any different.

Yes but be honest, when nyou see these celebrities on screen, doesn't it flash through your mind, did he/she do it or not?

I know it does mine, does that make me unreasonable or just honest?
I don't wonder (except Savile) I presume innocent.

I know innocent people get arrested for matching a sketchy description.
kiddy fiddling !

Bobsy, that is a terrible phrase to use. I find it really offensive.
Being on the Elm House list with the reference, 'Kitty,' certainly does not help his cause - and, hence, the interest from the boys and gals in blue.
How do they prove he's 'Kitty'?
Funny thing is that I always had doubts about him way back before any of it blew up with all these others.....
"kiddy fiddling !

yawn.......ok tell us how youd prefer it described so your oh so delicate sensibiities arent offended...yawn....
I am lost for words. Just read through this thread and you are all looking for something to be offended about. Childish all of you. I certainly won't venture into News again!
That's two 'yawns' Baz....have a little nap :-)

It's a horrible phrase.
Neti...who is being offended?
If you read the link, it says this happened last year and the police took no further action!
///Yes but be honest, when you see these celebrities on screen, doesn't it flash through your mind, did he/she do it or not?///

I tend to think to myself that as they have been found 'Not Guilty' I am obliged to accept that decision.

And I have never subscribed to the 'no smoke without fire' theory....

No Baz, I won't. I have said what I wanted to say.
my original text regarding this post was the fact aog had to highlight the "sir cliff" saga, why? i know he's every right to post whatever he likes within reason but find this particular posting unworthy with all the conflict that's around us at the moment, just tittle tattle in my opinion ,and i can have one!
'No smoke without fire' is an uninformed and lazy way of looking at things.

Obviously not many have friends/family etc who have ever been subjected to wholly unjustified finger pointing and the rumour mill.

I've never been a Cliff fan , but that doesn't colour my judgement, just wish for everyone's sake they'd get their inquiries sorted.

If it seems endless to us imagine what it's like for him.
Ivor- so would you suggest Ed should draw up a list of the top five or so most important news topics and posts on any other nes items should not be accepted?
