If that BNP wreath was not laid by the BNP at the official ceremony in Whitehall then one must assume that it may have been quietly placed there with reverence and respect for our fallen with no fanfare or accolades demanded or expected.
Had I laid my wreath there and saw someone pick it up and desecrate it,and commit criminal damage to a symbol dedicated to real men then I think the yob would find himself horizontal and the sprouts would be getting a practical lesson in First Aid irrespective of a police officer on duty or not.!!
As usual AOG immediately swoops on his 'supporters' and and responses he can have a dig at, conveniently ignoring a succinct and direct answer to the OQ
Perhaps Farage should be present and lay a wreath because he genuinely wants to, whilst Corbyn should not, because he genuinely does not want to.

If the Scottish National Party can lay a wreath why shouldn't the British National Party?

Do you think it means they want to throw out all foreigners or that they are respecting Men & Women of all races who gave their lives for their countries?
The BNP don't hold any seats in Westminster.....the SNP do; that's the difference.
Can't help wondering whether mikey had poisoned his young charges' minds to such an extent that one of them said, 'I say, sir, there's a filthy wreath here from those damned fascists'.
Or more likely, the little scamps 'have got mikey's number' and went there with a marker pen in their pockets and malice in their hearts.
Get with it, jack. Lots of people/organisations lay wreaths at the cenotaph.

No one has yet answered my query, could Nigel gather a section from his party and join the long line of ex service men and women, emergency services and other civilians, and still lay a wreath as they march past the Cenotaph?
Yes, they do.
But not at the 'main' service which is where this thread started off...

My remarks were in answer to mikey's

*** The boys were very impressed with all the wreaths, but one of them pointed out one that had BNP insignia on it ! ***

*** Now that wasn't laid the previous Sunday ! If there hadn't have been a Policeman on duty at the Cenotaph, I might have been tempted to lean over the railings, pick the ruddy thing up, and shred it ***

Please try and keep up.
ANOTHEOLDGIT, what minimum requirements (if any) do you think should be met before a political party is represented at the Remembrance Sunday service?
Corby...perhaps I could be allowed to answer your question !

As long as a Party has at least one MP, it seems only fair to allow them to lay a wreath at the main ceremony tomorrow.

But I have never noticed Sinn fain being present, even though Jerry Adams was the serving Member for Belfast West.
Parties have to have taken their seats in Parliament, not merely elected, in order to be taken into account.
Yes...you are probably right Corby.

But suppose the BNP really had elected an MP ? Do you think that all the other people present, including Betty, would be happy with a representative from a racist, fascist organisation sharing the occasion with them ?
I had a look on the BNP website and in the past they have held a service at the Cenotaph on the Sunday following the official service.
I am still confused as to why ANOTHEOLDGIT equates the BNP as having the same right to appear as the SNP have.
Corby...so am I, confused that is !
I can clear up your confusion for you. Aog didn't mention 'appearing' at the Cenotaph. He asked were they not allowed to lay one. (In response to mikey's boast that he'd have ripped their one up, if the police weren't there) HTH.
