I Agree With Katy Hopkins On This One...
There is to many Charity's asking for our money.

I've been involved with two major charities and resigned from both on principle. Other people's money is so easy to waste. I like Katy Hopkins.

On this occasion Ms Hopkins is right. All are worthy causes, but only so much you can give. Today I recieved an envelope in the post from the Heart foundation, with cards and a pen. I also received McMillan Nurse charity cards, a pen, a bookmark and a request for £5 or £10 etc. Yesterday out shopping one end of the store there was a charity bucket (I forget which one) to which I donated an then at the other end was a different one to which the OH donated. Where do you stop?

I've come to despise the BBC's Children In Need telethon.
It's not that I have any objection to the Children In Need charity nor to charity in general. I think both are good things.
What I object to is the massive, publicly funded Children In Need telethon that happens every single year on the Beeb. Why is Children In Need the only charity to receive the benefit of an entire night of programming and several weeks of promotion beforehand by the UK's biggest publicly funded broadcaster?
What about other charities? Where is their publicly funded telethon?
If it were up to me I'd have an annual all-night charity telethon for a different charity every year. One for Children In Need. Another for Cancer Research. One for Help For Heroes. One for the Cystic Fibrosis Trust. Etc.
To remove any bias, the lucky recipient charity could be chosen at random once a year by some overpaid celebrity who could dramatically push a button and make a ball fall out of an overly complicated piece of transparent plastic machinery.

I too like Katey Hopkins.
I don't agree with every word she says but I do find myself often agreeing with her on a whole range of issues. Her schtick is to phrase her arguments in a deliberately inflammatory way to elicit the maximum outraged reaction from the people who disagree with her.
Her style is entirely contrived. It is also extremely effective; evidenced by the fact that we're talking about her and that she's regularly in the news.

I knew nothing at all about Katy Hopkins so decided to look her up on Wiki.
After reading the entry I have nothing but utter contempt for this odious person. She must be pretty bad for the UKIP to refuse her application for membership (three times ),and they appear to welcome plenty of nutters with open arms.
