oops me no - spies were shot out of hand and that was why escapers such as my dad from a POW camp kept their dog tags - game was up if they were searched therefore

is the short story - The British said they would hang those responsible if POWs ended up in concentration camps - BUT I think those surviving the Great Escape ended up in Sachsenhausen and Mauthausen when it was liberated disgorged a few POWs ( along with ter daaah .... some very unlucky spanith thivil war veterans who had been passed around various detention camps for ten years- and that accounts for the Thpanith language banner outside the famous photie of liberated Mauthausen )

He looked very much alive, he was cuffed hands behind back head pushed down totally undressed I suppose they do this to make sure they have no weapons but thought it was a bit over the top bringing him out in front of the cameras like that - good propaganda though.
