And why should they be allowed to override UK law(Yes I know they shouldnt)
It said the judge – known as a qadi – told the couple: ‘Secular judge does not do religious divorces. We have Islam. Secular courts do not have Islamic laws. Can a kaffir [non-Muslim] come in and judge Islamic matters?’
And isn't 'Kaffir' racist?

Additionally, the evidence required when applying to a Sharia court for divorce is unequal for male and female and weighted heavily in favour of the male - naturally.
Sharia law has some way to go to infiltrate the Daily Mail website.

There all sorts of things wrong with this
but it us the DM - who have to sell newspapers ....
An arabist is gonna have to tell us if kafir has one 'f' in it or two.
[ written the same, but one has a shadda sign above it showing the f is doubled and I just cant be asked to go to a Koran and have a look )
I think kaffir with two is a Boer Dutch loan word and is insulting.
Not many of them - veldt, bray - for braaivleis - barbie and boss from baas meaning big-fella or capo or jefe.
but I could be wrong and it is the daily mail
O god and I havent even got onto Qadi
q is a sound we dont have - it is a 'k' sound made by your larynx only
the 'd' I think is a dhal which we just dont have - a stressed d kinda
the d frequenly mutates to a 'z'
Karzi - and yes Kenneth WIlliams and the Kazi of wherever is a mutated from of qadi meaning judge or big-fella
The things is you can agree to arbitration ( much cheaper ) and clearly the rules are gonna be different ( or else why have it ) - and the question then become if it is obviously unfair - what recourse do youhave - having agreed to go down the path - to the civil ( erm kafir ) courts
the DM being the Dm doesnt tell us ....

"Kafir/kaffir" in both senses comes from Arabic "an unbeliever"
Somehow it acquired an extra F for the South African version, and the current Moslem version can be one or two Fs. There is probably an interesting story behind how it got both meanings
"Kaffir" in S Africa is just about as big a no-no as you can get: it gets listed as "taboo" in Collins dictionary, along with the n word
