Farage lost one of his 2 MPs last May and he appears to have a tempestuous relationship with the only one he has left.
All sorts of things had been predicted about UKIP in the last couple of years. They were going to "break the mould of British politics" for instance. And, as I confidently forecast, none of it came to fruition. Much has been said about the inaccuracy of the Polls, but they got UKIP bang on the button.
If the Party Leader and its only representative at Westminster are at loggerheads, than the Party can hardly expect to lead on to greater things.
Carswell makes an important point....."Let's not do what we did the day after the Oldham by-election and blame the voter, let's not pretend it's all due to postal ballots. You know they had postal ballots here in Clacton too and I don't remember anyone blaming postal ballots then.
Farage was so late for a UKIP Party bash in South Wales a few months ago, that by the time he finally reached Margam Park, the meeting was long over and the building was in darkness. But instead of blaming his lateness for not leaving London early enough on a Friday afternoon and underestimating the completely predictable and normal traffic jams across the Severn Bridge, he instead said that it was due to all the vehicles in front of him, driven by Polish people !
The Party is a complete shower, and maybe Carswell is correct....it can't go anywhere until Farage retires and lets someone else have a go.

Carswell (which autocorrected to 'carsick' initially) and Farage have been in opposing camps for some time.
UKIP's problem seems to be that they have a few strong players on the field, they have rather a weak bench, while many of the squad are barking mad!
Anyway, nice to see another parliamentary party, the DUP, electing a woman leader, which means NI will have a female First Minister and good luck to her

mikeys little obsession...must be a slow news day if thats all he can regurgitate from the front pages...like the loopy bore party he supports arent in enough trouble...
at least UKIP would try and halt immigration and maybe we might get some national pride back...instead mugs like mikey and his ilk will just keep letting em all in and trash the country

The problem Naomi, is that they keep trying and there are still plenty of people who think that UKIP are an important part of the British political scene. They still think that there will be a miracle "break-through" There hasn't been, nor is there any sign that it will happen anytime in the future.
UKIP has as much relevance as the Greens. If a Party can't even get its own Leader elected to Westminster, after trying on many occasions, for many years, then there must be something seriously wrong. Perhaps Carswell has a point here....perhaps Farage is the problem.
