Whatever description is put to it, these police officers, should feel the full weight of the law brought down on them, including the two women police officers who apparently have been cleared of any wrong doing.

Then perhaps you should not have bothered to make that comment if you didn't want it to appear that you did. //
My point was entirely general, and not intended to infer something you did not say - if that was the impression you took from it, please accept my apologies.

divebuddy - //It's like watching a wild life programme on here sometimes. Two gnarled beasts slowly circling each other, going through a time honoured ritual that hasn't changed for a thousand years. Suddenly, there is a flurry of action, a clashing of horns, some huffing and puffing; then the circling begins again. //
If you are referring to AOG and myself - 'twas always thus, but we are still here!
Oh, and less of the 'gnarled' thank you young man!!!!

This guy was killed because he had been falsely identified as a paedophile.
I think it is highly possible that the police believed the allegations and refused to help preferring to let mob justice take place.
18 police and community officers faced charges , 9 of them are still under investigation,6 of those for gross misconduct which is a dismissal offence !
This could be one of the biggest police misconduct case's in history !
All this started because the man tried to take photos of public disorder to back up his claims of harassment. The man who killed him thought he was taking photos of his daughter.

All this started because the man took photos ..... to back up his claims of harassment. The man who killed him [ said he ] thought he was taking photos of his daughter. ( edited quote )
.... and the confrontation was filmed and used in the murder trial - but by that time of course the fella was dead.
Lack of action in the Yorkshire Ripper case was not a basis to sue the police for an avoidable death
however cringe-making lack of action is prosecutable in this case
and we will have to see if you can sue in the civil courts as well
( Jean Paul Menenes who was shot and killed by the police by mistake was settled out of court )
Manch a few years ago someone was kicked to death in a local housing estate for being a paedo and then they found they had attacked the wrong fella
assailants felt AWFUL apparently - only convicted of manslaughter....
