Merkel lives in a bubble, never meets 'real' people, a typical politician who speaks and acts only to other politicians. Everyone I meet is deeply concerned about what is being done to their country and yet the press seems to ignore the problem. This silence is really storing up even more trouble for the future as this English language news site untypically says;

for clarification, venator said it all with the reported behaviour of the crowd; my comment was to point out the difference between the scene at Koln Hauptbahnhof, and anywhere east of the bosphorus; ie the 1000 strong crowd used fireworks and not kalashnikovs. i'd assumed their blatant mysoginy required no further comment.
