Clearly getting a job has not crossed their tiny self centered minds. Now I know they are both not carrying a full load but surely anyone who cannot see the problem should not be walking the streets, let alone be responsible for children.

I have no idea what you're talking about, hypno
Gah! * unhygienic

Hypno is commenting on the meaning of 'Roasters' as posted by Douglas.
spuds are'nt they ??
Roasters - hot tatties - dolts - buffoons - r soles. :-)
Or (and I'm not responsible for the content so be warned)

Who is he calling roasters?
How much did the Daily Wail pay them for this sizzling story?
Who is this Hypno? Is there an imposter about, pretending to be me?

Oooops.
Apologies - Hypo :-)
If I won that kind of money, no way would I blow it!! No forward planning, but that is 2016 culture, want want want!
Welcome to AB EileenandRuss, nice to meet you.
Sort of a bit sorry for them. If they were fly, there must have been several ways around declaring their winnings. I mean, not getting married might have helped. And, like some have said, if you've never had money you probably think £50,000 will last a long time.
No chance of hiding the money from Guernsey's officials.
Pathetic druggies, hand outs are their expectation and future existence. Notice Jeremy Kyle on the TV. Their ilk are all too common, type C3 lower intellect.
Guess how much they spent on Heroin? Conjecture? Yes. Probability high. Criminal record definitely. Waste of resources upon bottom feeders. Sad that such behaviour is tolerated in our once proud Islands.
It might be pertinent to point out that the British Channel Islands are not members of the EU. Their Laws are based on ancient Norman Law and their constitution is led by Jurats. They are NOT subject to the dictats of Brussels,Strasbourg or the ECHR.
Their climate is generally accepted as slightly more temperate than ours although no more than about 50 mins flight by Aurigny from Southampton or a little longer by Condor ferry out of Weymouth.
Please not that they do not appear to be troubled by boat people turning up on their shores asking or Asylum.
It would seem the Bailwicks of the Channel Islands are able to tell their very own low life scroungers to bog off and find a job without fear of the EU imposing fines on them so it would follow that they do not have the same amount of Romanian/Roma beggars and pickpockets flooding St Annes, St Helier and St Peter Port.
Any one unsure which way to vote come the referendum might well bear in mind how the Channel Islands manage without the EU's interference.
If these two knew French they may get away with "Clameur de haro"
though may be not. An ancient Norman law still valid today on the Channel Islands.
Last time I heard of it being used was about 20 years ago.The local council in St Annes,Alderney were about to erect a public convenience in Marais Square.
A resident in the very small square marched out of her house just as the council workmen turned up to start building. She execised her right of clameur de haro in perfect French (Norman) and the building work was cancelled immediately.
Good law to have if you have troublesome neighbours and disputes. :-)

If you are interested. It's rather quaint I think.

Fascinating stuff, retrocop. I knew a lady who was struggling with the French authorities over her driving licence and status - she was from the Channel Islands.
On OP: no, I don't have a lot of sympathy youngmafbog. £50K is a huge amount of money to be gifted to give you a start, I only wish I had had that cushion and freedom when I started out
