It’s was tried before, Mikey. Remember the Moors (well, I don’t mean remember them, but have you heard of them?). They invaded the Iberian Peninsula and tried to make their way, with their religion, through Europe. They had to be removed by force and it took almost 800 years to finally get rid of them:

What’s happening now is far more subtle and will be almost impossible to eradicate (absolutely impossible if people refuse to accept there is a problem).
Two stories in the news today to add to the one mentioned (I’ve tried to avoid the Daily Mail for fear of the usual reprisals:

“BISHOP of London the Right Reverend Richard Chartres has urged Christian clergymen to start growing beards in a bid to enable them to be better equipped to reach out to members of the Muslim community”

“A Muslim family has taken over hundreds of petrol stations across the United Kingdom and removed alcohol from its shelves. Following the takeover, brothers Zuber and Mohsin Issa ordered for the removal of alcohol from sale from all the stations. While there have been suggestions that the ban was enforced for religious reasons, the company said it did not think it was ethical to sell alcohol to people who are driving. [Yeah, right].
Europe is tolerant Unfortunately Islam does not recognise tolerance – it sees it as weakness. If Europe does not face up to this problem, and that must begin by accepting that one exists, it will face a crisis which will lead to extreme unrest and it will go to helll in a handcart.

"It was tried before, Mikey. Remember the Moors...?".
I think many people are ignorant of basic facts of European history, NJ. When I was at school we learnt about the Battle of Tours, the battle of Lepanto and the Siege of Vienna. In fact Islam has been at war with the West since its beginnings in the 7th century.
Not many of the vociferous AB supporters of the new "peaceful" invasion know that.
Their ignorance of history doesn't surprise me. What does surprise me is their total lack of curiosity about the ideology of Islam. Observing acts of Islamic "extremism" (a world-wide phenomenon) almost every day the most obvious question to ask is "What is it about Islam which justifies these acts in the minds of so many of its adherents?".
Now it's possible that the answer to that question is the answer Islamic scholar Cameron gives: "There is NO connection; the extremists are perverting the true message of the Prophet". It's also possible that there IS a connection. If the latter is the case then that would be an important thing to know, and should lead an honourable leader of his country to enquire further in order to understand the precise nature of the connection.
Unfortunately the question has been answered by Merkel, Obama, Hollande, Cameron etc. as well as by our friends on AB without any time being spent on the traditional intermediate stages of rational discourse.
