This should go down a bomb, as most of the migrants can't speak modern day English, so I don't know what they are going to make of Elizabethan English?

That city, like many others, has a very interesting history. This is not the first time that an encampment has been nestled outside the "City Walls".

It's time that the French did their bit, I am sure a little French ooh la la, something like the Folies Bergeres would draw the crowds a little better.

But as a matter of fact, it is an intriguing thought, and I am not sure that inability to speak English matters a great deal. It'll be the spectacle, novelty etc.
"The play's the thing ..." tho' I doubt it will catch many consciences of many kings or others.
During WW2 a leading French theatre put on a version of Sophocles' Antigone in Paris. It tells of people standing up to tyranny and the consequences for themselves of their actions.
That would strike a chord with the refugees too.
I would suggest a wonderful double act to entertain the crowd would be Bill & Ben ( Dave & Cleggie)

Maybe some tried and then fled to seek sanctuary when they saw what they'd brought down on themselves.
