For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.It's a case of 'damn him if he does and damn him if he doesn't' - it's a bit like what Soames faced in Rhodesia, Mountbatten in India (though he had reached Peter's Principle) and Patten in HK.... there's still time for some more concessions out of Brussels though as it's evident that the EU does not want or can afford the UK to go.

the parties are all divided mikey but that is good on this subject. This is far more important than any party politics. Doesn't matter if you are in No 10 if the country is ruled by some unelected faceless bureaucrat in Brussels. I'd vote SNP if I thought it would save the nation from these traitors. I hope it does tear the party apart, if that's going to happen the now is the time whilst Labour are in chocolate teapot mode.

But dave faces the biggest rebellion that the Tories have seen for many a long year. Europe was partly to blame for Mmmmajor losing in 1997, and dave is only too aware of that. Look at Boris's comments today .....one thing early today and another in the Chamber this afternoon.
