A Triumph For Trump

Well done Donald.
And a thumping for Hillary, what an excellent result.
US election 2016: Trump and Sanders win New Hampshire
Now stands back for the bile from some.

Gromit, I did agree before Jeb lost his way. The problem for him is that he hasn't held any real power before, and the only reason people expect him to do well is his name.
These days he seems moderate, so maybe I would welcome a return to form for Jeb!

Even if Trump were to get the nomination, and even if he went on to be president, I think people (he included) are exaggerating US executive presidential power. It is a democracy, not a dictatorship, and Obama has achieved very little of what he wanted, even as recently as yesterday, having his plans for power station emissions overturned.
The good thing about this man though, is he puts his cards on the table and can change the agenda, and boy, does that need changing.

Only two terms as Govenor of Florida. The same could have been said of Reagan (Govenor of California) or Carter (Governor of Georgia) or Clinton (Governor of Arkansas) etc.
Now if you had said Trump has never held any real power, you would have been spot on.

Bernie has a very long to go before he is given the Democrat mandate.
Socialist might not ruffle too many feathers in New England but it will be very different when he gets to the South and Mid West. If Hilary lets Bill out of the cellar where she has locked in him, we can see her campaign really take off.
As regards the Republicans....look at the motley crew that is being offered up to the American public....the usual scaly specimens !

Yes, but Sanders has made a pretty good start, thumping Clinton in one state and losing to her only by the toss of a coin (literally) in Iowa. I suspect he faces the same sort of problem as Trump, though -- breaking past the 40% support or so barrier. Trump has been lucky so far that he's faced more than one "mainstream" candidate, turning 35% support into a massive victory. Sanders has only Clinton to defeat, so that the same level of support leads to massive defeat. Funny how electoral systems work, innit?
Trunp wont be president, as I have said before. But after all the comments from certain quarters when Trump came second in the IOWA vote I thought I'd set the ball rolling in the other direction.
Why add "Now stands back for the bile from some." ? It's not because I dont want other opinions but more often than not when Trump or Farage are mentioned then the name calling (scaly) or worse happens.
Am I happy for a socialist? Well yes on two counts. 1) that horrid woman got a thumping and 2) I reckon it highly unlikely that the good old US of A would vote a socialist president in.
