For goodness sake. Never mind about lessons on Islam let us have lessons throughout the UK on British Values & the necessity of integration. Please let me remind you once more this is a British country & if foreign tribes wish to settle here the least they should do is learn our language & customs.

I rather think giving a talk about Islam is a whole lot different to saying - this is what the Koran says and it is true.
Giving children some broad understanding of the world around them and the people they meet is in my mind not a bad thing, if of course the talk was overly preachy then I would object.
As it stands I haven't seen any content.

I suppose essentially the point is that Islam should be treated equivalently to Christianity -- or at least, proportionately. Like it or not, people will insist on teaching religion in schools, and there are, what, about a couple of million Muslims in the UK? Not teaching it in schools at all in that context (again, if you allow that religious teaching is a part of education) seems bizarre.
The ideal is that religion should disappear largely from school life, although even then I suppose there's a case to be made that studying it at school would be a good counter to learning about Islam (and other religions) at home or at the respective place of worship. At least in the context of a school lesson it's much more open what is being taught, and why.

Do you not think that children ask their parents why that person has a mask on, why that person is all in Black on a hot day? why is some Idiot in some town wailing through a tube? why some British Town are full of dam Rockets? why do those men wear their pant half way up their legs? why don't those men Wear socks? Mikey. why the feck do we have to go out of our way to please them.

naomi...we crossed in the post. So is every other religion on earth...why single out Islam ?..
why single out Islam ?.. I have been asking my kids teachers that for many years. Every year there is about a two week period of learning about Islam.
Never has there been any teaching of any other religion including Christianity.
