That's not really comparable.

To act in a Bollywood film, you would need fluent Asian languages, the ability to dance and sing to conform with the format, and be believable and appealing to Bollywood audiences ... in short, you would need to be an Asian actor, or of Asian extraction.

It's not strange at all -- you've just not been paying any attention, presumably. In fact there have been firstly quite a few non-Indian actors in Bollywood movies (one of the current leading stars in Bollywood is a Liverpudlian, for example). And then five or so years ago there was a campaign against such actors appearing at all:

this is what I am interested in I personally don't give a *** what colour they are. I am getting sick of the constant references to race on this forum.

I don't think the issue of ethnicity is a problem for the people on the form, but it is an issue in the wider world, and worthy of debate, and that is why it is raised and discussed.
