Well Tony Blair is Scottish - surprised? You should hear his refined Scottish accent when he is back in Scotland. He was privately educated but still maintains a strong scottish accent.

I would love Gordon Brown to be next PM.He does have a personality and most people respect him.The Scots do have a historic contribution to politics because we are vocal and dont take sxxt - and we have the best education system in the world.

Obv I'm Scottish!!!

Buddy, I'm always surprised that folk think Tony Blair is English too, I think it's obvious he's Scots.
It is obvious, he was in my local pub the other day and didn't buy a round once!
LOL at  GEFS1967 oops sorry typo error there 1966.

Sorry GEVS1967 - must get the specs on.

BTW thats why Scottish Ministers are best for the country because we look after the pennies and the pounds look after themselves!

Mony a mickle maks a muckle!

Tony Blair doesn't come into the equation, because he won't be party leader at the next election, which is what the question was about.

The answer depends on who the Conservative leader will be.

Good point bernardo.I just thought I would say that TB is scottish cos lets be honest 'not a lot of people know that!!'
Should It Matter!!!!
No!!!
Yes, I think it does matter. Talk about having your cake AND eating it (not sure what else you'd do with a cake.... but that's how the saying goes). Can you see an Englishman becoming First Minister of the Scottish Parliament?

As for the Scots looking after the pennies etc, I refer the Right Hon gentleman to the building of the new parliament building. And also Brown's spendthrift economy.... different matter when it comes to rounds though, I agree!
