Firstly we hear that Tommy Robinson suffered head injuries recently while on a family night out in Essex,

And now we hear an Imam has sadly died from head injuries received when walking home on Thursday night in Rochdale.

If the attacks weren't so far apart you might think there was a connection, but surely the distance is too great isn't it?

It would be stretching credibility to suggest that the incidents are connected - although the motivations behind them may have a common factor.
Agreed, andy-hughes. Violence is to be deplored. It may be for a different cause (mugging gone wrong for example) of course, mustn't pre-judge.
wouldn't it be nice just once to read headlines '' Imam hugged by edl supporter''

That would be ... unlikely!!!!

Or even "edl supporter hugged by Imam" perhaps?

Wasn't Rochdale a centre for quite a lot of EDL activity a while back,
I was thinking there might be some old associates of Tommy who heard about the Essex attack and maybe, decided to to something.
Far fetched I know but ... .. .

It's possible.

If that is the case, I am sure the media will hear about it - no point in doing something like that as a protest group if no-one gets to know.

I don't think anyone would advertise doing something like that especially given the outcome of the attack, but it would still send a message regardless.
Let us not speculate until more information is released.

I think that is exactly why they would make a point of owning up to it - as an organisation of course, accepting individual responsibility tends not to be the approach of choice for these people.

As I say, terrorism is only effective if people know about it.
I agree there is no point in doing a politically motivated crime without blaaaarping it from the rooftops

if tommy robinson kissed a mirror then it would be a EDL supporter kissing an Imam wouldnt it or near to it ?

Tommy is an apostate muslim innit ?

It's not even worth speculating.

Stretching credibility is a big understatement....
