Is It Because There Is No One Good Enough.
First the Oscars then the BAFTAS now the Brits, maybe just maybe there are no black artists worthy of an award this year, Organisers of the awards announced plans for a new advisory committee to help them more effectively
acknowledge diverse talent.

this from the article, "lack of recognition for artists including Krept and Konan, Stormzy and Little Simz."
Who are are Krept, Konan, Stormzy and Little Simz?,
what happened to Luther Vandross, Alexander O'Neil, Lionel Richie, all three have probably sold millions and million more records the three above, perhaps their music is not that POPular.
heres the winners from the 2015 MOBO's any one spot anything?

SP, //There are plenty of great British black musicians, producers and singers. // Doubtless, and two of them were recognised. There are plenty of white people in the profession who weren’t on the list either. Thanks for setting me straight, on that point, sp. My inattention to actual nominees/winners I put down to age.
Emile Sande probably has record sales big enough not to be fussed about awards (which I consider to be no better than PR, just as the Oscars try to draw people to the terribly worthy but (we suspect) dull stuff. (Marvellously sent up by Kate Winslet, in an Episode of Extras).
Laura Mvula appeared on Later with Jools shortly after (not having anything suitably timed to garner an award at) the MOBOs last year (or the one before?). I couldn't help thinking it was award-winning material, just badly timed. (Still, no sense deferring the income stream just for the sake of mantle ornaments).

Actually - on the contrary with Emeli (I wish she would spell her name normally)...she has the Brits to thank for her career. She was named the Critics' Choice about four years ago, and then the following year she went on to win Best British Female Artist.
To be honest, perhaps 2016 was a good year for artists, black, white or otherwise not to be nominated...seeing as Adele wiped the floor with nearly all the competition.
Better to be in a 'weak' year.

There are plenty of great British black musicians, producers and singers. However, in 2015 - there were very few top line stars who had material out. It's a very narrow view to assume that just because the Brits one year didn't have many black stars, that the talent isn't out there and they are just 'not good enough'.

Fender and sp 1814, that's the point I was making, who has heard of krept, konan, stormzy and little simz, but I'm sure we've all heard oh Luther, Alexander O'Neal and Lionel Richie, where are the brilliant black soul singers nowadays.
Apologies for any typos as I'm on my way to wo on a wobbly bus on my iPhone.

'Acknowledge diverse talent'? How patronising! That statement is nothing to do with 'talent'. It's the height of politically correct selective wording. They won’t even say what they mean!

Ah, now then. I've just seen a brilliant suggestion that should even make Sp happy. (for once)
Why don't we open a factory that churns out millions of Oscars, Emmy's, Brits, etc, and when black people reach, let's say, 18 yrs of age, we give them one of each.
It could create a bit of work in a depressed area and give the rest of us five minutes peace.
