"A spokeswoman for Greater Manchester Police said: "The officer came to us late last night with this.
"Until then they had been making their own enquiries to try and locate him but came to us to publicise this." "
n officer had been making their own enquiries???? It wasnt reorted to the police asap? Very odd

/// But Manchester and Stockport combined are not an Asian community. Therefore anywhere other than Rusholme, is not his community. ///
The whole town or city doesn't have to have a majority of Asians living there before it is classed as a 'community' only certain smaller areas where they have chosen congregate, then these are then classed as Asian communities.

Bednobs,
The report is extremely badly written. My interpretation of this...

Means, the local police were trying to find him when he absconed, But they couldn't find him. So they have publicised the case to get help from the public. The Officer in the first paragraph is a police office. The Us in "came to us" are the publicity department of the police. One section handed over to another when no progress had been made.
It would help if the journalists reported clearly.

AOG,
The report, though it is badly written, seems to suggest the police do not think he is in Rusholme, his 'community'.
Presumably they have looked for him in Rusholme, and cannot find him. Which is why they are extending the search beyond his 'community'. That is my interpretation (see my pist to bednobs).

I'm assuming that you don't actually believe that Muslims in general turn a blind eye to this sort of behaviour.
...or do you?
I can't tell whether your comments are tongue in cheek.

They may not have broadcast 'around the mosque' every weekend but they operated in a way that 'white'/other paedophiles wouldn't/couldn't.
That is, when these cases come to light, they involve brothers, brothers-in-law, wider family and work colleagues.
Other paedos operate in secrecy(and shame). If they're in groups, they tend to have to trawl wide, and in secret, to find fellow perverts. They certainly wouldn't risk approaching family or work colleagues for fear of being exposed.
I was watching a programme last week where a Muslim teenager was murdered by her father and mother in an 'honour killing'.
Now, as it happened, the FBI had bugged their phone because of his links to Jihadi groups. Throughout the day, before they murdered her, they rang relatives and friends, men and women, to inform them what they were going to do.
'Allah be praised' seemed to be the general answer. Not one person tried to dissuade them, rang the police, raced around to save the poor girl.
I'm afraid the Muslim mind set is very different to ours(or, certainly, mine) and I can't, and don't particularly want to, understand it.

/// Would you say Polish people are part of your community because they are white and christian? ///
It has nothing to do with skin colour so don't go down that track.
But it has everything to do with grouping, if a majority of Poles live in a particular area, it can then safely be called a "Polish Community", just as a large group of Brits living in Spain would be classed as the "British Community".

//since a Pakistani person would stand out in a community where there is a high percentage of Indian folk for example?//
In what way? Style of dress? Mannerisms? Accent? Cricket shirt?
And no, they don't all look the same to me. Too varied for me to have a clue where they're from. Some of them had to walk hundreds of miles, at partition so you can't rightly suggest that the geography determines their looks.

/// If community has nothing to do with colour, why do you refer to an "Asian community" since a Pakistani person would stand out in a community where there is a high percentage of Indian folk for

Oh so Pakistanis and Indians are a different colour are they?
If you had read Gromit's post 16:17 Thu 03rd Mar 2016, you would not have failed to notice that it was he who referred to them as the Asian community, I just used the same term so as not to confuse matters, but it still has nothing to do with colour, although it seems both you and Gromit would wish it to be.
But it was wasted apparently since you tended to get confused, which isn't very hard for you to do.
