Zacsmaster, // Naomi..... so it's other Muslims who are stereotyping Muslims then? // No, but you know exactly what TTT means. You are being awkward.

That is an excellent article and ties in with my own observations and experience as to why many are dissociated. I have also known kids, loudmouthed in school, who were locked up as soon as they reached home. There were even 2 11 year-olds who were locked in the (lighted) cellar to read and learn the Koran every day after school. I remember one uppity girl (Yr15) who was so full of what she was going to and be. Went home end of GCSE exams, returned for end of term prize-giving and speeches as a different kid. She was escorted by her brother - when I spoke to her she said she had not been allowed out of the house since she had returned from her last exam (she had been locked in her room for most of the time) and was due to go to Pakistan in September to be married off. By which time she would have her exam passes - which added to her 'Bride Price'.
To counter this - Muslims could start marching, protesting, abandoning traditional garb and refusing to submit to Sharia law. That would be a good start.

In the interests of illustrating the point, I mean that, no matter how clear I think I'm being, if the other person gives the impression of not understanding then I assume that they don't understand honestly, rather than that they are being deliberately annoying, and attempt to re-express myself more clearly still.
It just seems to be basic courtesy to assume that everyone is basically a nice chap until explicitly proven otherwise.
