Or is this story a load of cobblers designed to appeal to certain groups?

http://www.express.co.uk/news/uk/655494/Bob-Blackman-Easter-eggs-David-Marshall

This is how the Daily Star first c̶o̶m̶p̶l̶e̶t̶e̶l̶y̶ ̶f̶a̶b̶r̶i̶c̶a̶t̶e̶d̶ reported the story last week:

And isn't it great that the story came from Christian campaigner David Marshall.

...a man who is promoting his own Easter eggs!

Dunno about you, but as a non-Muslim, whatever Sharia Laws are in place have absolutely zero affect on me and my rights as a complete atheist.

//Is this another thread which will shift away from the topic of Easter v. non-Easter eggs and onto Muslim-bashing? //

not from me. you asked a question. i responded.
SP...its quite an old tradition apparently, started by Frys of Bristol, in 1873.

And I have had problem whatsoever in buying Easter Eggs, although as a diabetic, I probably shouldn't !
//whatever Sharia Laws are in place have absolutely zero affect on me and my rights as a complete atheist. //

just as a concept then, SP - is it therefore right to ignore injustice because "it's nowt to do with me guv"?
Mush....no of course it isn't right. But Sharia Law only extends to be people who want to be bound by it.
So what has all this got to do with Peppa Pig being crucified 2000 years ago?
Mikey, //But Sharia Law only extends to be people who want to be bound by it. //

If only!! You're forgetting about the women who don't have a choice!!

Back to Easter Eggs. I bought Cadbury's Easter Eggs. The word 'Easter' wasn't on the front of the box, but it was printed on the side. Dropping the 'Easter' has nothing to do with political correctness. I imagine the producers are aiming at increased sales.
Naomi > If only!! You're forgetting about the women who don't have a choice!!

At Easter too - oh for an eggalitarian society!
AG, did you write football headlines for The Sun in a previous life?

I often wonder why this isn't seen as a problem, naomi.
Mush > AG, did you write football headlines for The Sun in a previous life?

Maybe, when I was more rounded perhaps ;)

If Peppa Pig is your way of describing Christ, then it is a good job Christians are so passive, because if you had associated Peppa Pig with Allah in such a way, your Muslim friends would not have been so accommodating.
Talbot, //I often wonder why this isn't seen as a problem, naomi. //

Me too.
//SP...its quite an old tradition apparently, started by Frys of Bristol, in 1873. //

mikey, that makes "easter eggs" sound like nothing but a victorian curiosity. in terms of chocolate that date 1873 may be correct, but the association of eggs with easter dates back hundreds of years.
