It's the same crime regardless whether the perpetrator knew the victim or not. What sort of justice system decides one is worth punishing more severely than the other. Must be great as a victim to know assaults against you are less wrong than against someone else.

You should never judge someone by their appearance...however, the eyes.

The eyes!!!

An, indomitable, elderly lady I know has suffered a stroke and walks slowly with a stick. She got herself down to London for time with her daughter and to take in an exhibition and a show.

On the tube, she was sitting opposite 2 people in burkhas, she says it was obvious from their footwear, size, mannerisms and voices that they were males. She was frightened - I think rightly - and didn't know who to report them to. There are plenty of reasons for banning the burkha, the one you cite is just another - but we have weak leaders.
There are many reasns for banning it but our weak leaders bow to thr righton liberal left Islington set for fear of being labelled racist.

Not often I praise the French but they cearly have more balls than Dave on this subject.
youngmafbog, I don’t understand why suddenly Dave is to blame. This argument has been raging for years. If it wasn’t for people who bang on about Muslim women’s rights to wear what they want to wear (what a joke!) and, in the face of criticism, defend Muslims at all costs, common sense might have prevailed long before now.
Dave is the current incumbent in No 10. He has the power to introduce a ban no one else does so is is clearly to blame.

True his Tonyness did sod all, but that is long ago now.
youngmafbog, the reason it hasn't been done, and will not be done in the foreseeable future, is because the brains of many people in this country are governed by woolly-minded political correctness. It's as simple as that.
I agree, that us what I wrote in my first post.

However Dave is supposed to be a Tory so he should have more backbone and ignore them.
security, this is a main reason to ban this stupid piece of unnessery garment, when will the weak Government get the balls and say, "It's banned" If your OH does not like the Ban, take it to the European Courts, dam stupid mask.
Unnecessary even.
youngmafbog, I too wish he would ignore them – I wish any one of his predecessors had ignored them – but on a social issues such as this British governments bow to what they perceive to be public opinion. Such is the power of the empty cans who bleat on about the wonders of a multi-cultural society.
They are offensive to look at, sinister and scary. Also ridiculously hideous.
I would like to know, if we wore a mask like some of these people and seen by the police, would we get stopped for our vision being obstructed?
