Daily Mail editor Paul Dacre got a tasty £88,000 out of the EU in 2014.

Nice 'work' if you can get it.

In our garden, we've got a bay tree, and we grow some rosemary and thyme. Do you think perhaps we too can get some money for...I dunno...growing stuff?

Get a pond installed and fill it with Koi Carp cat food. :-)

///The agricultural subsidies you refer to were available to every farmer in Britain and, in the case of Scotland, included reimbursements for extensive woodland planting schemes (native – not commercial trees) to improve the ecology of this wildly beautiful and remote area.///

And the problem is?

How much would that be worth?
I have never been able to understand the hypocrisy of The Daily Wail especially about the EU.
It's owner has 'Non Dom' status so pays virtually no tax in the UK despite living here 90% of the time. He claims to be based in the EU rather than the UK so as too avoid paying his share of UK tax.
The editor who presides over running the constant ' get out of the EU' stories is actually one of the UK's largest benefactors of the EU farming grant system. If the Daily Wail gets it's way and we vote to leave then it's editor will lose tens of thousands of £ a year . Talk about cutting off your nose to spite your face!!

But...you could say that a man who is due to lose thousands if we leave the EU, is the most trustworthy person in the debate, because many others would keep quiet?
Ask Mr and Mrs Kinnochio SP, they're the pros on the gravy train! You're growing your own herbs? I think You'll find that's a felony under the EU jackboot SP. Have you got the regs?

I'm almost certain that there are no rules which apply to the growing of rosemary, thyme and sage.

Oh, and mint.

I forgot that.
I can tell you how to avoid paying tax. Contact The Guardian@The Cayman Islands.
^^ Or the Daily Mail which is based in the British Virgin Islands and owned through a series of international trusts designed to avoid UK tax !
Missing the point, Eddie. Only one of them is consistantly 'holier than thou'.

^Or even, consistently.
Does that mean you are not a fan of the Common Agricultural Policy, sp1814, and that you are a supporter of the 'out' campaign?
Excellent point, ff. Look forward to some semantic gymnastics in reply.
Just yet another example of the EU lobbing our money everywhere.
Or, of course, no reply, ff.
