I've just came in and seen this shocking news. Can't believe it. Such a talent. R.I.P dear Victoria.
There ought to be a campaign to ensure that "The Ballad of Barry and Frieda" gets to No. 1 in the chart....

I made it to every live show she did (especially the Royal Albert Hall gigs).

She is the only person who brought me to the verge of wetting myself laughing.

The BBC should honour her, not with a single repeat, but with an entire evening of shows.

And every episode of Acorn Antiques.

She was a giant.
That Day We Sang....one of the best things I have seen on TV ever....and the "making of” documentary was excellent too. Oh and Dinner Ladies....superb
sorry, just read back. Keep your heart up PP.
acorn antiques..yes please :-)
Strangely enough I had a dream about her within the last 10 days or so....
We were sharing a train-carriage and I said to her, as you would, that if my parents hadn't moved me away from Bury at the age of 2, she might have been my baby-sitter!

I envy you, sp1814.
Circumstances always conspired against me and I never managed to see her live....I had tickets on 2 occasions and still didn't get there!

We'll have to content ourselves with our Victoria Wood DVD collection.... :'o(
On this point I agree with David Cameron - she was a national treasure.

I am really saddened by this loss.

Far too young to go.
Terrible News,R.I.P.
Such sad news. What a talent she had. She was just a few months older than I am. Irreplaceable and unequalled. My heart goes out to her family. Thank you Victoria for all the laughs.

One of my favourite memories was sitting in the Royal Albert Hall with 5,000 people hollering, "Beat me on the bottom with a Woman's Weekly", then collapsing in my seat laughing.

Gosh...so sad. RIP Victoria :-(
Funny SP - I just listened to Barry and Freda. I was going to post the "beat me on the bottom with a Woman's Weekly" line. Nearly makes me cry every time.

She was an incredibly talented and funny lady.

RIP - heaven or the thereafter or wherever is going to be a funnier place now.
I think it was her skill at observation of people that put her at the top, definitely my kind of comedy.
A hugely talented lady. Truly shocked at reading about her death. Loved Dinner Ladies. RIP Victoria x
So young. Very sad. RIP, Victoria.
