I certainly wouldn't want to buy a house in an area that had poor broadband speed. I can believe it's become a high priority yes.
Sounds highly doubtful.
I'd not offer more because of it, that's for sure.
An extra £100 or so possibly but £23,000 !!! No way. I suspect that 'Mail' review is sponsored by Virgin media!
Unless you've got a large family (perhaps with several teenagers viewing online videos simultaneously) I really can't see what anyone gains from increased broadband speeds after a certain point.

The 10Mbps that I get was actually considered very fast when I first got it and it's still fine for my needs. Pages wouldn't load any faster, or Now TV look any better, if I had 20Mbps, 50Mbps, 100Mbps or a zillion, zillion squared Mbps. I simply don't need such speeds for the things that I do online.

I do habe 100Mb and it certainly stream well.

I do use it for seeme meetings in Bangalore and it does work well. Almost real time.

But would I pay a huge sum for a house with it ? Maybe not.
I have just spent a fortnight holidaying in an area with very poor broadband and a terrible phone signal.

While the break ( from the internet ) probably did me good, it was hell.

I had some business I had to complete and not being able to send email attachments was a real problem. I could not imagine living like that all year.

It would certainly influence my decision if I was to move house.
Agree with Buenchico. If you don't stream films or play online games then there is no point in spending money for "fast" broadband speed.
I live in an area without a mobile signal and i'm very happy with that situation although visitors complain. we do have broadband though.
Gromit - if you were on holiday, why were you having anything to do with work? We all need to chill out completely from time to time. I use the internet a lot at home, but when I go away I don't have a smart phone or any other device and, surprise surprise, life and the world goes on.
diddlydo
I work for myself, and some jobs just have to be done regardless of my diary. I also have a weekly deadline and if I do not meet that, I do not get paid. So while I can take as many holidays as I like, I cannot completely do nil work.
