Another one bites the dust. Austin Reed has been on the go for a long time but I thought that it was old-fashioned back in the 80s.

If you miss Woolworths, just head down to your local Wilko.

It's just the same, but without the Ladybird children's clothes.
It has been a reliable place for professional work wear but has been struggling for at least the last 15-20 years.

I'm not at all surprised by this news.

We don't have Wilko - nearest one is about 50 miles away. I have bought things on line from there a few times though.

Laura Ashley left town too - clothing is not for me but the home stuff was nice. Monsoon went away too.

Hoppy is right. I like Wilco and shop there all the time now.
I don't think I have ever set foot inside an Austin Reed store (and probably never will now).
Hoppy...if ever I were to walk into a store like Austin Reed, the staff would keel over with shock !
Christine Lagarde will be fed up - she says it's her favourite shop.
