why the hell do these airlines keep on plying people with drinks? There should be a strict no alcohol policy with flying. Some airlines and airports have only themselves to blame.

A bartender should refuse to serve a person who has had more than they should to drink, before they enter their premises. An airline can choose to withdraw service too on the same grounds if they enter the departure area in the same state. //
My disagreement is purely on the reason why people drink in airports.
Your contention is that they drink to calm their fear of flying - my contention is that they drink through boredom and simply because the opportunity is there.
On all other counts, we are in synch.

Andy - I drink to calm my nerves and with online check in and hand luggage only there is no longer a 3 hour wait. I'm currently on holiday and we had to be at our gate 30 mins before boarding.
The last time rowdy passengers were reported on here they didn't even look drunk. They were arguing over a girl.
