well unusually I agree with Anne, who's to say what would have happened if they'd left the UK, Scotland would have been useful to study how they get on outside the EU.
Most rational people are aware that oil is a volatile commodity...in more ways than one! In the EU alone...never mind the wider world...Denmark, Finland, Slovakia, Ireland and Croatia are all countries with populations around 4 or 5 million, just as Scotland is.
How many of them have oil? Not a lot, yet all are independent nations getting along reasonably successfully. Why would anyone assume that Scotland - uniquely - could not have done the same with or without oil?
