I very much doubt they are. The problem with lots of ex service men is the mental health issues and them not seeking/affording the proper care they need.
All military should be retrained before they are discharged. I don't mean retrained for employment, retrained mentally.
It'd need an American to explain; but maybe vets are seen as existing citizens who are expected to know that one should fend for oneself rather than expect the State to provide, whilst immigrants are viewed as folk who have little, are in a strange land, know nothing, and need help getting started ?
A feeling, nothing more.
But I can't believe illegal immigrants are housed in five star hotels while veterans of Americans wars who suffered physically or mentally are left to sleep on the streets.
Probably has happened at some point for some reason or other.
Same happens here we treat some immigrants better than those born here. All part of right on liberalism.
It seems you are right Sandy if the UK I anything to go by, as soon as they get here, they seem to get help with housing etc, or have I got this wrong?
