/// For me, co-operation with our partners on the continent and the restriction of the power of our government is a positive, not a

So says "not an ordinary person" Baroness Lawrence, a member of the unelected house.

Our "elected" MEPs have no power whatsoever to influence the secret decisions taken by the unelected eurocrats. Cameron has no influence either, as his recent negotiations on change prove. We can, and will, get rid of any politician who lies and fails to carry out the promises made to secure our votes. The tsars of the EUSSR pyramid scheme don't even have to...

We may have has FPTP for decades but that does not mean it is democratic. It is heavily biased in favour of the Conservatives and Labour. If the General Election was a true endeavour to give the population of the country representation based on their vote, then UKIP should have had 75 MPs.

It is the job of the opposition parties to hold the Government to scrutiny, even if they have a majority and therefore a mandate to rule. Along with the second chamber (the undemocratic Lords) they act as a safety net to reign in some policies that may harm the country.
They are not doing a terribly good job judging by the number of duff polucies that have had to be U-turned in recent times.
