There is no end to the EU's generosity with our money AOG!
I despair, I really do.
Why are we meddling in a country with
// a country with an estimated $24tn in natural resources // ?

Even if we affect regime change, and the new leader is more favourable to British firms to extract the abundance of Copper, Diamonds and Cobalt, what is our aid money beong wasted for.

Is this another low in Camerons snake oil dealership. Just how low does this oaf want to bankrupt us and his gormless Gideon tells us a Brexit will harm our economy. Cameron is hell bent on doing that on his own. Chucking or money to all and sundry like a demented octopus. I am sure he is closet Laboour.
Writing cheques,increasing our debt

Good morning Retro.

This would appear to be a 'soft power' move.

The DRC is a country with an estimated $24tn in natural resources. It has the potential to be one of the richest countries in the world:

...but isn't, due to ongoing conflicts. The way 'soft power' would work in our favour hear is by raising British influence in the region. A democratically elected Parliament helped into existence by support from Britain stands us in good stead in the future (trade negotiations, drilling rights, favourable export deals etc).

That's how I believe soft power works.

It's not really based on altruism.

And in 50 years we will have to say sorry for exploiting them.
