excellent news...a brave man for what he did. There is a call for a George Cross for his intervention to try and save Jo Cox.

Oh I do hate snidey little remarks..... No question needed....just passing on something we may be interested to hear. He deserves some recognition, I think...many wouldn't do as he did and isn't it a wee bit uncanny that he and Jo share a birthday.......x

And what's your question?
Question Author
Has anybody a question for Lynn? She's obviously a bit confused as to what good news is.
:-)
Yes, what a brave chap...well done that man!
Shouldn't we wait to see what actually happened at the scene with Mr Kenny before getting carried away?
I very much doubt he considers himself a hero and hope he and his family are left to allow him to recover in peace.
trt....Bernard Kenny tried to defend Jo Cox and prevent her being murdered.....what else should we wait for ?
Question Author
exactly, mikey, and I share mamya's sentiments. Let Number 10's process as to recognising his bravery wheel away behind scenes.
Thanks for the information, didn't know. Apologies.
no problems trt !
Let's hope he makes a full recovery and is not left with any mental scars from not being able to save poor Jo.
A brave man who deserves to be called a hero. I wish the the world was full of Bernard Kennys

A very, very brave man to go up against an armed man who was so much younger than him. No question about that and my first thought was that he deserves an award to recognise his courage and action, but I'm not sure that a George Cross is appropriate. Isn't there an Elizabeth medal? Unsure about these things but have an idea that the George Cross is for military conspicuous gallantry.
George Cross can be presented to civilians for outstanding acts of Gallantry. Believe it comes with a small annual pension. Queens Commendation for brave conduct is slightly lesser award and is a small silver oak leaf similar to a Mention in Despatches.
Hope he gets recognition. To my shame a Senior police officer tried to dismiss have a go heroes as gung ho idiots and should leaventhe professionals to deal once a risk assessment is done 5 rs later!!!
At least Hogan- Howe appreciates public spirit and courage!!!
Question Author
a Queen's commendation would be most apropos.
hi DTC - my question to poster no 1 is:

why are you such a miserable old bag ?

I reckon George Medal
the girl who got chopped up with a samurai sword
but saved the kid got one didnt she ?
appropriate - not apropos
you have been drinking - erm .... anything good ?
Question Author
Nope.....two glasses of a Craft Argie Malbec, the assumption being to drink the enemy's product, but it is a nice wine (M&S)....and yes, I am just being sarky as to the Best Answer - may well change it to gness's, as she hit the mark about snidey comments.
