Holidaying Soon?
This was posted tonight by a friend.
It's beginning already! We're in Greece, no cash exchange & no cash machine withdrawals for Brits. Great.
Also read: Those holidaying to the US have already seen a 10% crash against the dollar to just $1.33 – the lowest in 30 years.
Stay at home year??

I suppose the euphoria being experienced by Brexiters in the UK has blocked out their capacity to comprehend the information that we are getting here in the US. ISIS rejoicing in the result as the chaos will enable them have an easier time attacking Europe; US companies considering moving their operations from the UK to another country; and the financial turmoil leading to recession. All this to keep those nasty EU foreigners out. Only problem is half of the foreigners working in the UK are not from EU countries.
What's that got to do with the original question?
Cape Verde is situated off the coast of Africa, it's not part of Africa. The official currency is the Cape Verdean Escudo (given they belong to the Portuguese) but these are worthless outside your resort and you're widely recommended to take euros instead. That's right, EUROS.

Slightly misleading there, maggie. I can well imagine someone with your leanings being loathe to quote The Sun or The Daily Mail, but really,,,,

I'd have thought Greece would wish to encourage tourism rather than let their banks pee folk off. They must be doing better than they claim if they can afford that. Or maybe it's an indication of one reason why they have economic issues. Nothing wrong with holidaying in the UK. Used to be the norm when I was a kid. But if going abroad I guess one needs to choose a country that doesn't have a reputation for inhospitablity to their guests then.
