hmmmm
I have not read it I confess- but I would have thought it was written as an analysis rather than as a criticism
He really should have kept quiet and just let the situation get worse, shouldn't he?
I don't see any criticism more concern than criticism imo.

You must do better than this AOG your standards are slipping.
If the white person was speaking about black boys and had the evidence to back it up as in the case then it would be a reasonable conversation to have.

However it isn't- is it?
Lack of aspiration amongst working class boys has been recognised as a serious concern for some time.

AOG....so why bring race into this issue ?

As others have said....you really must try better !
You know why he brought race in to it! It's because a black man said it....
Ummm...yes, that was obvious from the start !
For goodness sake let us put an end to this nonsense. Haven't the PC brigade gone far enough ?
Who's that then, AOG PC?

Some of you think you are so clever, how else can one not bring race into it when it is all about race.

Had a white person criticised black kid's lack of leaning because perhaps they would much rather wander the streets for certain specific reasons for example.

Don't you think others would be crying 'racist'?
No...I don't.

Because unlike you, he (a black person) didn't just say "working class boys" he said "working class WHITE boys".

Makes sense when one reads the correct text, rather that edit it to suit one's agenda.
He spoke the facts based on research and observation , as my answer states had the opposite been true then it should also have been said.

I can't see how it would make it racist if it were true.

I am not nor do I know anyone who is that shallow.

If you can refute the points he raises then that is well and good.
Are you advocating some sort of two-tier system...an 'apartheid' system as one might refer to it, where only whites ought to be allowed to mention anything good or bad about whites and conversely black people can mention things solely to do with black issues?
He has said that white working class boys are (despite having ability) under represented at university.

//In his speech to education leaders gathered at Wellington College, Mr Sewell acknowledged that progress on getting disadvantaged young people into elite universities was “slow”, and suggested schools could do more to encourage pupils, using clubs and societies as an “intervention” and way to build confidence.//

He wants more white working class kids to be more ambitious and stake their claim in the countries universities ... he is speaking up in support of white working class kids.

There really is no pleasing you AOG!
AOg..............the concensus of opinion on this thread seems to be that there is no justification for bring race into this issue and I can't the point in prolonging the discussion.
Black man has concerns white working class kids underrepresented at Uni's

You have a problem

Black man has concerns that black people are underrepresented in the media

You have a problem

Please tell me what would please you AOG?
Were there not a photo that told you the person stating these figures is black, would you still have commented on this "criticism"?
