Westminster can overrule Holyrood (nearly said Hollywood) at any time, usual or unusual.

He has also said a few other things. Parliament could decide to hold a second referendum which could end with a "Remain" vote. He also said that if a General Election is called and the winning party campaigned on the basis of remaining in the EU, that would be taken as superseding the referendum result.

There could be an election called sooner than you think: if the Government loses a no confidence vote or two thirds of the total number of MPs vote for an early election.

I'm still waiting for anyone to challenge my thinking tgat Scotland's oil revenue would just be siphoned off by Brussels, in excess of any 'welfare' they'd be in receipt of, so they'd end up as net contributors, in the end.

All this over and above the fact that they don't have their own currency or gold reserves with which to buy their way into the euro with.

Presumably, whatever are the UK's present "currency and gold reserves" would proportionately belong to an independent Scotland, if that ever came about.
Not only that, but - apart from the national DEBT - a similar share of any national PROPERTY would also belong to such a Scotland. The Palace of Westminster is the British, not the English parliament, for example. Accordingly, if a Rump UK took it over, they'd need to pay Scotland for its whack! A failure to do so would surely involve a reciprocal refusal by Scotland to stump up for any debt!

north sea oil revenue is on its backside - any number of percentage points of next to f-all is still nothing.
