Bless them! People are people - politicians and politics are something else. I love the German people, too. I love the French people I know. 'Good fences make good neighbours' has never been more true. :)

I lived in The Netherlands for some years .Always got on alright there . Nice people .Very laid back.
Shame we've had to split with our European neighbours but the people have spoken and as a democratic country those of us who voted remain have to accept that fact and not squabble about it .Life goes on .

I have spoken over the last few days with several Germans about Brexit (always approached by them) and when I told them I was pleased with the outcome and furthermore had voted for it, each one seemed incredulous.

It is difficult to convey that one can love Germany, the Germans and in fact all Europeans and yet want sovereignty over one's own country, and that the EU has become a monstrous undemocratic unworkable nightmare with its ever expanding direction towards federalism.

I think many of them believe that after the history of the 20th century and through skill, hard work and ingenuity they are the rock-solid foundation and now centre, of a new European order and find it incomprehensible that anyone should want to leave it.
