I'm unsure what she expected. We've heard the tape, she can't deny speaking of it. Saying to not to report it like that as that would be awful, is very naive.

a) It's probably true that having offspring gives one an incentive to concentrate the mind on getting things right for future generations.
b) I'm sure folk without children already have as large an incentive as anyone needs anyway.

As she is the one 'leave' camp candidate left it's rather disappointing she has allowed a newspaper to spike her reputation like that. Despite the issue being near insignificant. A lesson in not to get too comfortable in interviews and just saying whatever comes to mind.

Leadsom is always going on about how she has been at the forefront of British business for so long, and yet managed to get herself into this entirely avoidable mess. Her inexperience in politics is beginning to show through.

Personally, I don't think this has improved her standing at all. She now has even less chance of getting her hands on the keys to No. 10 than she had last week.

Inexperience in interviews would change when the right team is advising.
The issue will clearly knock her campaign temporarily, but I can't see anyone should consider it relevant when making a final choice.

IMO her indignation is more a case of needing to nullify her indiscreet statement more than any real case against the newspaper.

Interestingly sp was referring to May bringing up the subject. Ensuring she has a soft side on display. Apparently that's less damaging.

I do not like Leadsom from what I have seen of her, but in this instance I believe she has been sticked up by 'The Times' who want May as leader.

Leadsom was very quick to condemn the report and spin the journalust had put on her words.
