I can see no reason why it should not be allowed to take place.

After all don't we live in a democratic state?
all lives matter to me..not just black!
It was IMO a deliberate provocation. Why stop in front of Brixton Police Station if not attempt to provoke a reaction. We all know what happens when people like this mob go on the rampage. Arson and looting.
As a gay comedian said on another clip posted on a link ,The Black Lives Matter group do not care about Black Lives. If they did care they would do something about the higher murder rate committed by blacks on blacks!
I will find the clip from v.e. and post it here if you haven't seen it. Certainly dispels a few myths of the 'Black Victim' in the USA.
Hey! There's a chance to get on telly an' that.

Possibly the police on the ground have a wee bit more experience of how to handle such situations? Would you prefer a bit of inconvenience and one arrest or the police to be heavy-handed with potentially violence on the streets?
in the UK, 6 people have died as a result of action by the police in the last 2 years; all were male, of the 6, 2 were black.

whilst public perception might be heightened by recent events in the US, this was a demonstration that appeared to have the UK law enforcement authorities as its target. which I'm having a little difficulty with, because it doesn't appear that a particular section of society - as is being implied - is being targetted in this country.
I wondered when this would happen ... very worrying imo.

Good post Mushroom.

/// Would you prefer a bit of inconvenience and one arrest or the police to be heavy-handed with potentially violence on the streets? ///

The police are there to enforce the law and protect the majority.

They should not move away from this concept just to appease the minority.

If they are forced to become heavy handed, because they are warned of potential violence, says more about those threatening this, than it does about any retaliating police action.
Because we live in a democracy?
"They should not move away from this concept just to appease the minority"
You seem to express exactly the opposite view when it's your EDL mates who are demonstrating.
// The police are there to enforce the law and protect the majority. //

Wrong. The police are there to enforce the law. Majorities and minorities do not come into it.

It looks like the police did an exceptional job in accommodating this protest, why are you attacking them for an excellent job?

The police arrest many more EDL protesters at their very much smaller peaceful marches of protest, than they do amongst the hordes of your trouble seeking Far-Left mates.

By a PC exercise in appeasement, you mean?

Isn't it also the police's job to make sure that our streets and roads are clear for the public to freely and safely travel on their way?
AOG,
Have you ever witnessed an EDL march?
I have, and it was not peaceful. There were arrests at that, but for drunkenness.
No one was arrested.
Press Association: // Clarification: Police say the man escorted from the scene was believed to be a bus passenger. He was not arrested. //
Question Author
Had those vast numbers of protesters been whites protesting at the actions of some blacks or Muslims, the protest would have never been allowed to take place, and if it did it would have been opposed violently by far-left groups.

*** A fight broke out after crowds said a bus passenger made a derogatory remark towards them. ***

*** He was punched by one protester after being ushered away by six or seven police officers. One officer told the Press Association he believed the driver had been arrested. ***
I see no reason at all for this demonstration. The shootings in America have nothing to do with this country, or Brixton in particular. It may be an act of 'solidarity' but it is utterly pointless.
Yes they have a democratic right to protest but

Don't you have concerns about this?
