40,000 people have lodged a complaint against Farage alleging race hate, stating that they must send a message that “We need to send a clear signal that in all political campaigns and public life, racism and religious intolerance cannot be used to attract support.”

Do the police have to wait for a complaint to be made now days from a petition of possible dubious signatures? The campaign poster was there for all to see during the Brexit campaign. If it was thought as race hate, by the police, they would of marched Nigel Farage into the charge room long ago when it was first published. The originator should be arrested for...

This is a clear attempt to stifle free speech. It wont be long.

It should be suggested to the 40 000 that if they dont like it they should leave the country.

The millions of others not on the complaint should send them that clear message.
They are going to be busy. They also have these hate crimes to investigate

Farage ? Who ?
What a bunch of morons.
What a load of piffle, Nigel said nothing that wasn't true and as regards the poster this actual scene had been printed in most of the press, also shown on TV.

/// Critics noted that it only depicted ethnic minorities ///

How astute of them. of course it did, the trouble being in this case they could hardly be described as 'minorities'.
can there be any sour grapes left?
Finding something to complain about is a hobby for this type of saddo.

Perhaps the "bankers" will get up a petition that bars discussing financial matters during election campaigns, or the "teachers" could have one banning education issues. Another point, how many of the "signatories" on the petition were asylum seekers or illegal immigrants themselves?
"Farage ? Who ? "

you know the bloke youre obsessed with , the one that got us out of the eussr.

I'd be more concerned with your own embarassment of whats left of a "party"

whos laughing now matey boy ?
Lets get a petition together and complain that ALL the media are constantly bombarding us with images of foreigners carrying out amphibious invasions on the shores of Lampedusa and Lesvos and stirring xenophobia. Or......could it be fact?
Surely the story should be titled:
40,000 Remainders Have Spat Their Dummy And Shouted 'Giz Me Ball, I'm Going Home'.

Pathetic brats.
"Police Recieve Complaint Of Race Hate Against Nigel Farage." - that's ok he's a white middle to old age bloke, that's allowed isn't it?
What a load of Bo****Ks

The originator should be arrested for wasting police time.
Farage? Who? "the one that got us out of the eussr", eh, have I missed something, did I perhaps fall asleep?

Judging by that three part documentary on migrants ("Exodus"), these are mostly middle-class Syrians, with skills or qualifications which would get them in, on the points-based system, anyway (even in peacetime, one day). It will become funnier as some of these virtue-signallers find their middle-class occupations under threat from migration.

When your salary is well above minimum wage, that leaves greater scope for a job-hungry person to negotiate a lower salary rate than the one you've strived for ages, to big up.

In the meantime, there has been an outbreak of race-hate crimes, since the referendum result and *either* something, or someone, incited it, *or* it has been simmering away for years and only just found this opportunity to vent itself. Provided individual perpetrators accept personal responsibility for the hate, by saying they've had it since before they ever heard of Farage, then he's probably safe.

Despite "that" poster, which nobody but Farage seemed to approve of (e.g. not even Paul Nuttall), I don't have Farage down as a racist. He's married to a German, and he was vocal that migrants already legally in the UK should be told that they can stay here.

Most people who voted for Brexit, including Farage, aren't racist. The problem is that most people who are racist would have voted for Brexit, and of course Farage wasn't going to discourage that. He needed every vote. That 2% that voted for Brexit rather than against, the 2% who made the difference, could well have been the racist minority. And now some of that small minority feel emboldened ... it's an inevitable and unfortunate outcome.

What's needed now isn't disgruntled Remainers to file a petition against Nigel Farage. A complete waste of time and effort and doesn't solve the problem. What's needed now is for the non-racist majority, both Brexiters and Remainers, including Farage, to make it very clear to racists that an increase in racism isn't going to be tolerated.
It is 40,000 people. That is more than the regular posters on Answerbank. And if you were black and you were being oppressed, wouldn't you want to stop it?
Obviously another case here with us of "Our needs are more important than yours, Mr Foreign Looking Person."
