It was interesting to hear a trades union spokesman on radio 4 on Friday complaining about the treatment of these illegal workers- she even complained that they may have unfairly been denied redundancy payments. She also argued that the company should have just released the staff rather than notifying the police once they discovered the forged paperwork. A little out of touch I feel.
