What do you think? It's a double edged sword as we'd have citizens readily available to disperse justice to would be criminals and terrorist but then we'd also be arming criminals and terrorists alongside our citizens.

We'd see drunken rows in bars turning into gunfights, domestic quarrels into fatal shootings, more suicides by gunshot wounds.

Having lived for many, many years in a country where everyone and his goat had some sort of firearm I can honestly say I don't think it's a good idea for everyone and his goat to be allowed to have a firearm. Having said that I can see that there could be a valid argument for people to say if the bad guys have them then how are the good guys going to defend themselves. I don't know the answer
