Will enough people have changed their minds since 2014? Even if they have it's not independence they are after anyway, more like subjugation in the EU.

Why do you have to be so rude - could you not use her given name is it that difficult for you?
they'll get a better class of subjugation from the EU than they get from Westminster - unless perhaps you believed Cameron's promises to them?
Latest poll (this week( on how Scotland would vote in another referendum was leave 47% remain 53%
I was going to say the same as Islay.
I am with Islay on this. I don't like Nicola Sturgeon or her ideas but that doesn't give you to insult her and the very pleasant and intelligent people of Scotland.

TTT likes to cause a stir, it gives him some kind of perverse pleasure. Don't rise to it and he won't get a rise either.

Sad.
because she thinks she rules the world..she will not listen to the will of the Scottish people and will suffer the consequences one day..she has been called MUCH worse by we Scots believe me...
In the immediate wake of the referendum result I did flirt with the idea of an Independent Scotland. I'm still more open to the possibility than I was before it. On the other hand, time (and very little of substance actually changing) has helped me to calm down a little (just for the record, anyone who read my posts on AB should see that I was expecting this to happen).

For myself, I don't see the point of Scotland leaving the UK or even considering it until at the earliest it's actually understood what Brexit will mean. I suspect that the fear is that Brexit will mean unfettered Tory government but I just don't see that as a reason to break up the country -- not least because this isn't really anything to do with Brexit but Labour chaos. Whatever the future direction of the UK, the people of Scotland surely have to see it before deciding whether or not to reject it.

I'd say Independence is back on the table for sure, but the change implied by the EU referendum has to happen first.
Question Author
yes but it would not be independence, they are talking about leaving the UK for the EU, assuming they'd be accepted.
-- answer removed --
all hypothetical ..EU will NEVER welcome Scotland..we don't even have a central bank !! all complete pie in the sky bunkum !!
and it is Queen Nicola who is talking about independence, and her deluded acolytes..the majority of we Scots DO NOT WANT IT !!
Question Author
quite so MM and the majority of Scotts have already voted to remain in the UK so clearly Queen Nicola does not accept that.
She is typicl of many politicians consumed by an ideology.

The people - who are they surey they are too thick to understand.

It's not just JimmyK who does this Bliar was very good at it so so was Dodgy Dave and Gideon.
Why should she accept the result of a referendum when the first thing the Brexit "remainers" did was raise a petition to rerun the brexit referendum because they didn't like the outcome and there was allegedly some vague legal reason it might be illegal.

The biggest loss since indy ref 1 has been the lack of respect for the democracy of this country; we vote and respect the decision whether we like it or not.
As a point of information, that petition was started by Brexitters weeks before the result
Strange but true
"The Will Of Her People"?
TTT, you seem to believe that the will of a people is fixed and permanent. Surely all you need to do is look at the political history of the UK to see that is an absurdity. In the past 50 years we have had ten different governments... Tory or Labour...split exactly 5 of each!
Are you suggesting that, once we've elected one lot, they should remain in power permanently thereafter? People are perfectly capable of changing their minds about independence in exactly the same way, surely?
quiz..it was to be a once in a lifetime....not a ... take my ball home cos I don't like the score...
Phrases such as "once in a lifetime" were used at the time, but they never carried any real suggestion that such a concept had any legal force or were even remotely binding.
MM ... Perhaps they were talking about the lifetime of a Hamster?
