I see where they are coming from but as soon as you start restricting treatment based on the "self inflicted" parameter you pretty soon find you can apply that to almost everything.

If there are legitimate medical reasons not t treat that is one thing, but the idea of saving money by picking on one aspect because they can is unacceptable. Large and small all pay into the system and should expect the same treatment for their needs.

One would hope that the victims have an opportunity to sue for denial of the medical service they've paid for.

I don't give a rats behind what measure they use, this is not about that this is about the idea that treatment is in some way restricted to those based on some arbitrary measure. Do not try and divert this thread with irrelevancy.

This is about money, not whether some people are fat or not. As a person who is not slim, I think its a bloody cheek to deny service to those that have done their share of paying for the last 45 years.

I gather you are a motorcyclist. A very dangerous persuit which greatly increases your risk of an accident. You wouldn't deny an injured motorcyclist tratment, so why fat people, smokers, drug users?
